ABOUT THIS COURSE:

Clear aligner therapy is an orthodontic technique that is able to treat a wide range of malocclusions. While many orthodontists are now routinely treating Class I crowding and mild Class II malocclusions with clear aligners, few are attempting more complex cases. This presentation will present several clinical scenarios on how to incorporate Temporary Anchorage Devices (TADs) with clear aligner treatment, such as correcting occlusal cants, posterior intrusion and application in severe deep bite and severe open bite cases. The second half of this presentation will discuss orthognathic surgery cases with clear aligners, using the ClinCheck software to plan the pre-surgical and post-surgical occlusion, as well as evaluating for surgery first approach. Detailed steps in treatment planning for surgical cases will be illustrated with clinical cases.

Learning Objectives:

  • Learn to recognize where TADs may be applicable in certain clinical cases to augment anchorage and increase the predictability of tooth movements that have been programmed into the Clincheck software.
  • Learn how to set up a Clincheck plan for surgical cases, ensuring that dental compensations are removed prior to surgery and coordinate dental arches for the post-surgical occlusion
  • A surgical protocol for clear aligner patients will be laid out step by step
  • Learn how to assess if a patient is suitable for a surgery first approach and detailed steps required in treatment planning

**This course is offered for up to 2 C.E./Credit Hours**
